The concept is so much fun and the food was Champions League. Wine accompaniment also great ... but please put some olive oil on the high chairs 😁 you know what I mean. Bye for now !

Brockenhexe in Japanese After the author visited the part of the Harz Mountains that previously belonged to the GDR again after 25 years, one can see that Helmut Kohl was right, albeit with a delay. The seemingly hopeless decline of these beautiful late medieval towns (Wernigerode, Quedlinburg) was followed by really blooming landscapes - there is almost no house left that has not been lovingly restored - wonderful .... But that should not be the subject of the considerations, but one of the two restaurants also awarded a Michelin star by Robin Pietsch the "Pietsch" The trend in sophisticated gastronomy to combine parts of Japanese with European cuisine is taken into account here. The search for the location in nightly, rainy Wernigerode turned out to be a challenge, no sign, only a door in the backyard, almost a conspiratorial meeting ... Minimalist furnishings, long rows of chairs at the counter - on the other side, the food is being prepared ... For each course an explanation in advance, the menu consistently at 1 star level, only the wholemeal underlay with flavored butter for a course was a bit too powerful for us ... The wine selection was a bit narrow, but the selected wine accompaniment was consistent ... Nice service - it's just a shame that the creator of the dishes and mastermind behind the concepts did not show up ... All in all, the very beautiful corner of Germany has another attraction - next time we'll stop by the "Zeitwerk" ...

Thank you for the nice evening to the team! The dishes were a whole new experience and a great experience for me. I also thought it was amazing that one of the chefs and the sommelier Florian answered my questions in such detail.

Very good restaurant with fair prices

The food is exciting and of course delicious, excellent service - a worthwhile evening.

The evening at the "Pietsch" was an experience in every respect and a new restaurant experience. All guests sit in a row at the bar, so to speak, on (comfortable) bar stools and all get the same thing at the same time. Before that, the chefs work in a kind of semi-front cooking and communicate with the guests in an entertaining and educational manner. It happens loosely and not at all stiffly like in some starred restaurants, but young, creative and happy! The service is accordingly very attentive. The top quality food on offer, with twelve partially unusual, partially Japanese-inspired courses, was worth all honors, earned a star and was absolutely right in terms of price. Highly Recommended!

We had an extremely delicious evening with 12 great courses and a matching wine accompaniment. At the beginning there was a Sparkling Sake with Yuzu who picked us up right away. The umami broth was a poem. The service was very attentive and the two chefs answered all of our questions. We would love to come back anytime.

A very personal restaurant experience with great, small courses. After more than 4 hours of menu sequence with juice accompaniment, we were not only more than full, but also enchanted by the creativity of the culinary art. A wonderful evening that we will remember for a long time.

Great, varied food, creatively prepared and served. You sit lined up at a long bar, are pampered by the young, committed team in a relaxed atmosphere and can watch the many courses being prepared. Sitting for a long time on the bar stool with relatively little legroom was a bit difficult for me, but that was the only small minus point that was more than made up for by the many plus points. Hopefully Robin Pietsch will soon get the star she deserves for this quite new restaurant. He already has it for his "Zeitwerk", also in Wernigerode.

What can you say ... I've never felt so comfortable in a restaurant. The menu sequence was a huge taste experience of excellent quality from the first to the last course. The young team is extremely competent and takes time for each individual guest with a friendliness that you are hardly used to. The ambience is modern and it is very interesting to watch the chefs prepare the dishes because you are sitting right at the action. A visit to the Pietsch restaurant is highly recommended and will not have been our last one

A culinary experience! The team is incredibly nice and tries very hard! The "juice accompaniment" is particularly nice in case you want to distance yourself from the "wine accompaniment". With combis like apple celery or cucumber ginger a real taste adventure!

Food, service, concept and ambience are great and justify the price. Clear recommendation for everyone who appreciates craftsmanship at a very high level, are willing to pay for it and of course want to bring some time with them.

Wonderful, Japanese-inspired food made from local produce (where possible) in a contemporary setting; to a great, attentive service and a very friendly chef. Highly Recommended.
